Actually VCO's are a common term in my neck of the woods (RF and wireless equipment), but not in the context that Eric used the term. I think you are right about him wanting a VOC, because to me a VCO is a Voltage Controlled Oscillator... Regards.

Short term, taped the gold finger. long term, study the air flow of the reflow section of the oven. It is always being overlook at this part and lookout for the printer. The air flow must be laminar and properly flowed back.

What about thermal cycling and/or vibration over the long term? My guess is that with the voids the joint would not be as reliable long term as a joint without the void. Am I thinking correctly?

Yes it's a product from SG Chemicals, it does tin the leads but they stay doll, they don't come nice and shinny. So that tells me it doesn't clean off the oxidation it just add a tin coat to the lead itself, short term results are great but what abou
