Hi is me again If what you are looking is for the AOI to "see" the marking on a resistor theres the option of taking a picture of only the numbers in the resistor is not highly accurate but it works.

We have 2 Mirtec AOI's in our plant and can say they are very easy to use and are work horses. Great machines for the price.

Hello Chris, Are you inspecting wave soldered boards as well with the Mirtec? I hear that inspecting wave soldered boards is so much more complicated than reflowed boards, no doubt due to the varying shapes of even perfectly acceptable solder joints

I can only speak for Mirtec, and no I am not affiliated with them at all. We have had a Mirtec AOI for at least 9 years. We have never had any major issues with it. There support is very good and usually they get right back with you if you cannot get

It doesn't seem clear what you really need. Do you have the default libraries from Mirtec with geometrical shapes/Models?
