I belive I once saw a picture of a Delta-T. It was in a very old Popular Science magazine. Some yahoo from Ohio wanted to put wings on his ol' tin lizzy. He also had some elaborate plans to convert his flat head V-8 to run off corn likker. I say chuc

I've seen this problem caused by the cool down. > On a 7 zone oven I made a profile to peak at zone > 5 to give some semblance of control to the cool > down. The component can develope a big delta T, > because of the difference of materials Che

Lets get to the simple things. Wave or Reflow? Wave soldered parts have a higher susceptibility to physical damage until they are waved. Thats were I normally see this type of break. Usually, the crack is a circular pattern in the cap if its fr

Have you complained yet to MuRata? You are talking about the same bluetooth module, aren't you. I hope everybody having trouble with module complains to them. I don't believe they put all the cautions and warnings about reducing the deltaT on the da

Make sure your reflow profiles are the best you can make them. You will probably want to, at the very least, get some sample BGA's and boards to sacrifice to profiling. Drill a small hole through the board into a middle ball of the BGA. Also put a t

Sure. Treat it like wave solder. Top side wetting is generaly harder to achieve than wave so don't over look it. On most selective solder machine, the delta-T is also something to look out for. Most move from preheat to pot. And snce the pot por

Amen to that!! Too many people lately trying to "get out" of rolling their GD sleeves, attaching thermocouples to the board (using their own preferred method), and running the board and profiler through the oven. I'm sick of questions like "duh, pb

If you are getting top side wetting, I doubt if this is a Delta-T problem. It also could be there is a lot of flux on the top side of the board stuck between the connector and the board. This is easily checked by fluxing and not running th eZ axi
