Can anybody give me feed back on the pro and cons of using Pace, OK, Hakko, Metcal, etc... equipment in their rework processes? I need to set up a low volume rework station for mixed technology boards. Would appreciate any suggestions.

I have a Pace Craft 25 Rework Station. If anyone knows where I can get a manual for it. Or has some manuals for a machine that they don't use or have anymore, that would be great.

I need to purchase a rework tool mainly for QFP's including 30mm x 30mm. I was looking at a Metcal QX2 and a Pace TF200. I would welcome any comments on these two products or any other suggestions. Also, is a preheater necessary?

The Metcal will run you around $5,000.00. The Pace is over $6,000.00. Check out Hakko model 852/853 for under $2,000.00 If your in the NewEngland area call us we sell them also.

The Zephytronics unit does not have the power you need. Their process is based on low temp soldering. Companies like PACE have preheat units that will give you more power and control. I see more Zephytronics on the shelf in my travels than any oth

Thanks for your input Chris. I have also seen the preheater units from Pace. I value all information pro or con, because the last thing I need is to purchase something that will not do the job.

Shikoku Glicoat SMD process is the market share leader for LF OSP in Japan and the Asian Rim. Enthone Entek is more of a US / Euroland product. Beyond that, it's not clear that Enthone has kept pace with product development necessary to compete in L
