For the Transition Automation pallets that Chris mentioned, they can be contacted at www.boardlok.com, or 1-800-648-3338. "SMT pallets", as compared to those specific to just wave solder, are becoming increasingly popular. Good Luck

Question: Do you run your pallets hot or cold thru the wave? I ask this because if you run your pallets cold the board will never preheat to the correct temp. thus, your flux won't activate properly. James

Mark, You should be able to get whoever builds your wavesolder pallets to create some you can also use in SMT. The only difference is you might have to change pallet materials to reduce the weight. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong

A) Questions: 1) What sort of pallet materials used? 2) what PCB thickness & LxW size? 3) what stencil type & thickness used? 4) what profile type used (peak deg-C)? 5) any peak Deg-C contraints for the components SMT onto the PCB? B) We use pallet

This might be a trival mundane suggestion but try to use non conductive plate to hold components. Probably even made of the pallet material. I am sure your pallet fabricator will have tons of scrap and he can help you find one. T

Trouble with wave solder pallet

Thanks for the replies. I use a foam fluxor, so the pallet is well fluxed. This is my first expierence with this thick of a pallet. Maybe Russ has a handle on it when he says that the wave height is just too high.
