Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 05 13:42:05 EST 2002 | dougt

We have been using a silicone encapsulated, high flex, flat cable for a short time now and have not been succusfull in terminating it to connectors with shell housings designed for round cable. Our solution thus far has been to leave the housing off

Flux Conductivity

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 13 13:17:39 EDT 2002 | peterson

We are having trouble with some through-hole connectors "shorting out" on a thick backplane. Preliminary research is suggesting that it may be due to excess flux, trapped under the plastic connector shell. I have done a bit of searching in the fine S

Help needed to solder poorly designed SMT LED's

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 25 05:08:33 EDT 2002 | msimkin

Gregg, We had a similar problem with our 0603 leds. They were being placed bang on, however, during the reflow, they twisted, fell sideways etc. We played with our profile, played with the paste volume & land pattern design, and only had a small impr

If you are talking about the REM oil sold for guns then I would not use it personally. B.T.W. REM oil has teflon in it. I quit using it on my guns because of its poor performance. It now resides in my garage...I use it to lube the axles on my push m

Is Our Blood Leaded Or Unleaded?

Electronics Forum | Fri May 09 12:08:19 EDT 2008 | sliebl

Last year I had my doctor do a lead test during one of my regular blood tests. My exposure at work is similar to most of you, I'm sure. I've been doing this for 13 years now. We do predominantly leaded solder processing through SMT and wave. I wash m

Stencil Printer?

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 13 11:02:46 EST 2009 | isd_jwendell

I use the LPKF model S. Operator uses a urethane(?) squeegee. Pressure and speed are controlled by the operator, which hasn't been a problem for me. The only problem I had was that I would forget to raise the PCB before I would start to squeegee the
