Davef, thanks for inputs. I think your correct, we have since obtained some ionic analysis and sure enough there is relatively high chlorides on the bare pcbs. The toluene is controlled within dip tank / drying system, almost no exposure to workers.

Some UV cure coatings do not have the correct rheology for sticking to small sharp corners. 984 is one of them. MicroCoat Technologies, Allen, TX makes one that works every time.

The solid content of 1B73 is too low, especiall when you add large amount of thinner, not easy to get enough coating thickness.

We are looking at switching to UV cure for faster throughput. Does anyone know of any cost effective coating manufacturers? The pricing we are getting back are around $250.00 a gallon in 5 gal pails. This is more than twice what we pay for our curren

Re: item 3 - there are ultrasonic thickness machines (Panametrics makes one) that can measure coating dry with a small transducer head. A little pricey for ones that measure reliably in the .003" +/- .002" range.

By "they've been through the wash cycle twice" what do you mean? What kind of cleaning process do you use? What sort of chemistry? How do you handle the assemblies after wash and before coating? Do the operators where power free gloves? -Phil

Does anyone do this? We have a small booth and lots of different kinds of media to try. it will be local stripping of coating on components for rework purposes. My main concern is ESD levels and how best to measure this. Any ideas or any papers o

These micro ablation stations can be outfitted with air ionizers and you can use less electronegative materials like corn starch as the blast media. Laser ablation works on parylene and other coatings when on metal surfaces. BWET

Hi All; Anybody here have experience in AVR80 BA DS65 CC process? I have an issue with the curing process at 28 degC RT. Can somebody recommend how to accelarate the curing without IR oven? thanks
