Hi , Could DIP package ( PTH) run through IR Reflow instead of wave soldering? Will there be any reliability impact on this package. Thanks Jack

We need to convert 150 large 28 pin DIP I.C. for SMT assembly. We mean, bending the leads at 90 degrees apart. Does someone knows where we can go for that ?

Hello all Is somebody doing leadfree soldering with a dip soldering machine? What kind of alloy are you using? What temperature are you using? Any problems with wetting/soldering quality? Regards Hannu

Walter, Read what i posted above about switching the dip switch 8 on dip 1. That will probably solve your problem but once again....make sure you write down all your machine settings because everything will be reset.

Hi Hannu, Just out of interest, are these big, heavy transformers, where the weight of lead in the solder will be less than 0.2% of the overall weight of the dipped part?

By "Dip Soldering", do you mean like in a solder fountain type machine as is the Electrovert Soldapak ? http://www.speedlinetech.com/electrovert/soldapak.aspx If so, the nozzle sizes are about the most important for best results, not to mention fl

It's been a while, but I thought it was set up with on the screen, and not with dip switches. I'm sure with later models it was but can't remember the menu selections to do it.

"and dip it in your solder bath for 10-20 seconds." Do you pre-tin them first or just dip them in regular solder? "You can't talk to molten solder, but surfactant will listen." "Remember, we're all in this together."
