That pad had a 16 mil dia, so I arrived at 20 mil squares by adding 2 mils to each side of the pad. Following that logic, a 12 mil pad would use a 16 mil square. But a 12 mil pad is on a finer pitch that isn't mentioned, so you should definitely

Your best answer for determining cleaning method is to contact your stencil supplier and follow their recommendation. Periodic inspection of your apertures (using microscope, or minimum 10x magnification) would also be a good idea to make sure that g

Hi PR, FYI,some adhesives harden within the stencil apertures with IPA if not cleaned well. We used Heraeus PD955PY and had to closely inspect our cleaning process of the stencil. Just another tip, ask your adhesive vendor for their recommendation o

Igmar, Although I agree with Chrys that square is good,( Better volumn ) his explanation is not entirely correct. Heres a little insert from automata: With square apertures, solder paste is deposited at the center of the aperture. The center release

Is anyone out there is the contract or the OEM sections using viscometers to check solder paste or glue for acurate process definitions. By this I mean check the materials viscosity over a period of time and measure the degradation of performance, t

Can someone please help with the aperture size on a Micro BGA stencil. I want to have an electroformed stencil made with 0.1mm (4mil) thickness. The PCB pad for the micro BGA has a 0.406mm (16mil) diameter. What size should I make the apertures for t

Listen, you can figure this-out from your particular situation. Do this: 1 Talk to your operators and determine if they see viscosity changes in your materials. 2 Talk to the people doing viscosity measurements and determine if they see viscosity

My personal opinion: Use 20 mil squares with the corners radiused at 5 mils. The squares offer 2 benefits: 1) A little more paste, which makes for a higher diameter solder column that is more reliable 2) Better stencil release of the paste. It's e
