What is the height, width, and length of the connector, packaging? We currently place a 2x20 2mm gull wing SMT connector measuring 8mm H x 38mm L x 6.1mm W, packaged on tape and reel with a plastic pickup in the center. We do this on an Assembleon

Toe fillets are not required per IPC. Toe fillets could be used as a process indicator, if you desire; I would not. Gull wing leads are typically cut off on the ends when manufactured; this exposes the non-plated material in the lead, typically coppe

8.2.5.5 Flat Ribbon, L, and Gull Wing Leads, Maximum Heel Fillet Height (E). For class 3 the heel fillet cannot touch the body of a plastic component, except for SOICs and SOTs. Why is my question? What type of failure will be the result of solder

Thanks davef! We found some SOIC & QFP with all leads having toe down problem. The heel fillet unable extend to the mid point outside bend. Do you have solutions for the problem? I have a question: How about the normal gull wing lead which is flat &

The picture shows that the heel of the device lead is not on the pad. Either bad placement or wrong pad dimensions. I imagine most customers would reject this joint as only a small part of the lead is actually in the solder. With no heel fillet the j

Hi, Do you have a picture on one of these leads where the solder has covered the lead ? As this is a gull wing device I wouldn't expect solder to cover it. I expect to see a toe fillet / wetting around the sides of the lead and a heel fillet. If your

I don't see an issue. As was mentioned before, it is what the customer wants. You could approach this from one of two ways. You could simply install the parts, clinch the leads on the opposite side for added mechanical strength and solder the parts

I remember from my days of machine setups that these packages' CAD data is actually off center from where the placement needs to be. Usually CAD center comes up with the parts more to the large collector/ground pad so the the smaller gull wing leads
