I have level 3 components per J-STD-20. 1) Are there any packaging methods which can be "zip locked" instead of heat sealed? 2) Do I need to evacuate the bag? 3) Do I need to purge with Nitrogen?

Just for clarification, I was only suggesting locking out new posts to the thread, not yanking it from the archives or anything. Wow, Mr. Parker was still around and I had no clue! I may start paying more attention to draonslayr's posts.

I figured I would start a new thread about this to keep it focused. How old is a thread when its considered old? In otherwords, when should we lock it? 30/60/90 days? two weeks?

Make sure your matrix tray is up high enough. The components in the matrix tray should be at least at board level. Also check your component height in the package list. If all that is OK then, check those Z locks I spoke of earlier.

BGAs warp during reflow. When balls solidify they lock the device into this warped state. It's not a big deal until the warp gets severe enough that you have opens and/or shorts.

Make sure your RS232 is screwed in and not loose. Verify your PC is not hanging up and locking up the com port (windows can really suck some times). I would scan-disk and defrag. I bet its not a furnace problem, but a PC problem.

Steve, We use that Circuit Works pen as well! You can purchase a UV cure then download it to an opaque syringe or bottle. Use a small EFD or similar luer lock tip and dispense where needed. Tom

If Amistar can't help try service@ipulse.co.jp I think you may struggle to get this sort of software for free. Tenryu has a history of using hard locks on their off-line software matched to the supplied floppy drive/ CD with serial # etc. Good Luck.

12 years of experience cant be wrong? Lets all forget all this profiling stuff, from now on we should all use them gel-locks in our waves and use the good old potato in the solderpot trick. Kickass PCBs guaranteed!
