Hi Nick, It's probably one of two devices - MOC8020 or MOC8021 depending on the CTR (Current transfer ratio). I have always used http://www.icmaster.com for older semiconductor datasheets. (Back in the old days we used to use the IC master data boo

Yes there is RoHS certified ink it just cost twice as much as the regular ink. Just kidding Some people ask for RoHaaS compliance on cardboard boxes, pencils etc. What a mess $%^$ To answer your question, Ink is made from ethanol (ethyl alcohol) and

| One of our board fab houses is asking (again) to eliminate the reference designators and polarity markings from boards. This isn't feasible for thru-hole, but what is the industry trend on surface mount assemblies? | Deon Response: Hi Greg, Fr

I though this was a good article on picking a part numbering scheme and since you weren't getting any takes figured I throw this out there and maybe get a conversation going. Part number system: How to get started Filed under: Item and File Man

If this component is laser marked, you could just spray conformal coat on it and the marking will disappear.

mccabekev, How are you applying the mark? Can you scribe the board?

For laser marking the mark quality is directly related to the PCB composition. If you want to guarantee a good mark every time and have control over the PCB being built (not always the case for contract Mfg) as the other responder stated, placing a w

You don't mention any particular IC or manufacturer or marking method. However, most IC marking is done with lasers these days. The laser actually alters the encapsulation so the only way to erase the marking is to remove the encapsulation. Otherwise

I'm looking for laser marking equipment for direct serial number Id on PCBAs. Is it recommended to laser mark on solder mask or copper or raw material?

Prior to packing the boards, we cover the marking on the IC by dispensing epoxy on top it. This is a way to protect our design so no one can copy it. We have a lot of boards and the optr takes a long time doing it manually. im thinking of using a pne
