Are you using nitrogen with your wave? You probably will need to with selective. With our Ersa we need 99.9% pure nitrogen to make it acceptable. They spec 99.999% which means liquid nitrogen. We tried one board without nitrogen, it left a two in

I would like to know what purity is required for wave soldering process, I am doing an evaluation of buying/refilling tanks or installing a Membrane Nitrogen Generator. the generatos exist from 95% to 99.7% purity, does any one has done any analysis

I require some feed back from any one who knows about using a voc free flux in a nitrogen wave solder machine soldering both through hle and smt componants. What disadvantages are there when using this flux? Do you have any contact details with any o

I'd speculate that the properties of a well formed solder connection processed in air and N2 are indistinguishable. Then again, the pitch is that N2 gives a wider process window, especially for NC flux-types. In the SMTnet Library look for: Opti

Cal, thanks for the feedback. I've tried different adjustments to wave parameters with varying success. You know how wave is - what works today won't necessarily work tomorrow. ..and yes, we run Nitrogen on our waves.
