Re: 45 Degree Wave Soldering

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 22 21:34:14 EST 1999 | Dave F

| A rash of new products here at my company have designs with multi-pin connectors 90 out-of-phase (orientation)wiht respect to wave direction, which has lead to massive bridging (shorts) problems.... | | Does anyone still use the 45 Degree Pallet

SMT Component rotation problem

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 27 14:41:48 EST 2003 | jax

Cad rotation should not change with relation to how the part is presented to the machine. It should only depend on how the part is orientated on the PCB when the PCB is at 0 rotation. There is a seperate field to input part rotation inside a feeder.

Solder Ball After Reflow Process

Larry, You always seem to twist things back to your wave solder process, ya nut! Anyway, why over simplify things when you are trouble shooting a process? The K.I.S.S. process was invented by your generation so I thought you of all people would l

orientation of polarised smd components on reels/tapes

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 25 09:11:25 EDT 2016 | spoiltforchoice

There 2 main rival standards for orientation in tape and because you can't really trust manufacturers to stick to one or the other or something else entirely it is always wise to check the datasheet. Typically an SOIC will have pin 1 the same end as

Jack, a couple of questions first, 1. What pitch are these leads? 2. What are the lead footprint dimensions? 3. Orientation of component? I personally have never had much luck soldering QFPs in the wave unless they are 50 mil pitch or greater, we o

We have no problems but orientation does matter. Orient with longest side of component body perpendicuar to wave. In other words the same preference as with through hole DIPS. Idea is the same as for through hole, that the surface tension will ten
