OK. Thanks!! Lastly, is it the nature of the chemistry that Sn/Pb solder mixed with Pb-free alloy will be getting voids? If so, what's the physic/chemistry behind it?

On going from 24v to 18v, try: * Voltage regulator * Resistor divider * Transformer On not generating heat or loosing energy, the laws of physics already are pretty well fixed.

When I try to bootup the machine I am getting an error that reads Dumping physical memory and a bunch of numbers & letters on the screen. The machine runs windows NT. Has anyone else had a problem like this before.

Good move. Again, stainless can NOT be soldered with standard materials used in electronic manufacturing, as everyone agrees in this thread. Additionally, the physical properties of stainless have to be altered in order for soldering to take place.

physically lift board of after fluxing to visually see what is covered, or using thermal fax paper to get to see coverage works well. PROPER low residue or no residue fluxes leave benign insulating residue behind not corrosive.

CK, I agree with you totally except for the art part. Soldering is a science of primary physics in nature. The European commission also looked at soldering as art (not science) and thought that RoHS would just change the materials the artist ha

It appears that the crack is between the paste and the ball. We physically pulled off the BGA by force and almost all the balls broke at the PCB. There was a thin layer of solder left on the pad. Maybe 1% of the balls stuck to the pad. I have attac

There are two fundamental questions that must be answered, in order to manage the inventory of any physical item - when to order and how much to order.? Is there any spread sheet available to trigger Minimum , Maximum & critical levels ?
