Why are you unable to place this part with your Machine. Part to big? No pick up point( nozzle landing area )? No Feeder? Vision recognition? If we know why you can't place it, we might have a fix.

We place parts like this with a contact systems machine (3Z). The part comes on a reel and has a flat top on it (as mentioned above) that can be removed as soom as it comes out of the oven.

I would suggest 1) Use the profile that is suggested with the BGA types you are using or 2) Have you solder paste rep visit for a half day and help profile your machine. Remember if they want to keep you as a paste customer they will help. Enjoy,

Can anyone tell me an approximate cost of the PDR 410 and/or ERSA IR rework station? Is the main advantage of using these systems over a hot air machine in that nozzles are not needed?

We have the X410 machine here, checked out the ERSA, both came in around the same price but we liked the X410 better as the control software is excellent.
