It depends on the water quality of your final rinse too. Too dirty and pools of water will trap residues on your board. If let to evaporate, these residues can stay on your board.

Is the prewash water going to drain or being re-circulated? If you are re-circulating don't send all or a portion to drain (or your treatment system) even sending a small portion to drain and adding fresh will reduce foaming. You will pull more water

It would help to run a carbon, anion, cation, mixed-bed configuration with pure DI as the final rinse. IF your incomming water is really bad you can run a RO unit to "prepare" the water for ion exchange. Do you run omega meter or ionograph testing

Is this an aqueous wash or chemistry wash? If aqueous you will need a DI water system at your facility. There are several ways of going about that, but there is an initial capital investment. Good luck on your project.....
