From "Assembly" magazine, "Moisture-Sensitive Devices" [ http://www.assemblymag.com/articles/85082-moisture-sensitive-devices ] ... a description of the moisture sensitive device problem. I agree with Evtimov * During board assembly solder process,

CIM systems for electronics assembly have traditionally considered the PCB only. Final assembly "modules" are often attached to traditional systems to accommodate this common requirement for pre-PCB assembly, mechanical assembly, and final assembly

Cal please help me understand your point better. How does the assembly determine the torque requirements? Are you saying that you expect the assembly drawing to contain a torque specification? If not, how do you determine the torque from the assem

Aside from process flows where the next step is: 1 Powering-up an assembly 2 Testing the assembly on electronic test equipment Is there a reason (need) to dry assemblies after water washing followed by a DI water rinse? Or is air drying OK? Dave F

Hello, Are there any rules for PCB drying (baking) before assembly; Date code criteria, finish process on PCB, storage conditions.. ect. I know some assemblers that are baking all PCB (not ENTEK!) as default before assembly, is it realy nessesary? i

I am looking systems that will automate our through hole assembly process. I did some research and found Universal is very popular. Can someone recommend me different Universal machine to have the complete assembly line. Thanks in advance -Michael

Does anyone know of a Mechanical assembly standard which could be used in the production of telecoms cabinets, faceplate assy, etc similar to IPC for PCB assembly?

Can anyone provide advise on implementing assembly of a very low volume BGA based board (less than 1500 units/year)? We do not currently do any BGA assembly and lack the inspection/rework equipment thats associated with these parts. Thanks John S.

You might also want to look @ Blueprint. We do use CircuitCAM for SMT program generation; we've found it's less effective for THT and Post assembly operations. We are also considering on-line documentation; it has shown promise in our final assembly

I am new to the board so be gentle with me. There are standards such as IPC-610 for PCB assembly, IPC-600 for bare boards, etc. Is there a "standard" for electro-mechanical assembly? Is there an IPC standard or any other industry approved standard
