Check them before the oven for cracks. (after placement) Don't just look at them, take them off the board and check. I"ve seen resisters that were broken by the machine but you couldn't tell untill you took them off. If they are cracked check the co

Difference in pick height from paper and embossed reel (typically) is 0.2 mm. Try to change your pick height and place height (different type of capacitors have a different height: for 100 nF 0603 and for 4.7 uF 0603 it's a big difference!). Can you

Placement force can cause chip cracking-micro cracks also. As machines are getting faster they tend to not control force other than spring pressures and z displacements. There are some machines that have full closed loop place pressure control , but

Don't forget placement. I"ve seen chips broken when they are being placed because they were thicker than the parts data used for them. This is not an issue on Panasonic machines because they measure the thickness of parts but I have seen it happen

I notice that someone has set all the capacitors & resistors parts as emboss instead of paper tape. Does this make any difference to the pick and placement of the parts, By the way recently we changed from 1206 to 0603 parts, coming out of the mac

We typically do not try to pick up and hand placve chip resisstors and capacitors. The risk and cost is too high for components that are a penny or less. We take into consideration that on many of our components, someone will have to test them to v

Latest information: The IP-1 packed up completely this week showing an assortment of weird error messages. The CPU was still running but the +24VDC power supply LED was off and nothing would work (emergency stop mode always enabled). Pulling the +
