GJ: If your supplier uses a conformal coating that "must be applied to a clean surface," then you are using the wrong supplier and no amount of twiddling with your N2 levels will change this. NC fluxes are inherently "dirty" and nothing aside of cle

As soon as the oven temp falls below 40 C and the RH rises above 5% then you need to consider that the floor clock will start. Long term storage of devices in an oven is not good for them as it reduced their solderability and can affect their perform

Could be that your temperature ramp up rate is too fast. This could cause the flux in the solder paste to burn off too rapidly. When that happens, it can expand as it heats up and burns off, causing the solder to get spread out from the pad.

I am wondering if it might be a fuse of some kind. We have some that are green, but have a similar pattern inside. It could also be upside down, so try taking it off and looking at the other side.

Many relays use soldered post coil terminatins inside the relay. In one case many years ago I found the SMT relay manufacturer used eutectic solder inside their hermetic relay. The SMT relay would fail because the solder balled up on the post, woul

Scott: Sounds like fun: Solder joint strength in pull/shear varies with lead geometry, solder volume, lead metal/metallization, and the test method. Among things, IPC-TM-650 talks to getting pads off-of boards. For instance: Method 2.4.8 is for

| Hello, | We are currently trying to design and ultimately implement a system that will be able to count and manage component placement for three Sanyo chipshooters on three SMT lines. | As the number of components decreases in the reels we want to

Hi everyone I am in the process of reviewing our storage of SMT components. At the moment they are pretty much on open shelves in the factory environment. We endevour to reseal components labled 'moisture sensitive' in their original packaging, bu

Could it be possible in my Quad 4c, to increase component size tolerance to reduce the rejection of components? Could this have an impact in the event of the machine picking a component off center? As in if the machine picks a compnent off center but

yigh, loose the glue, put paste on ALL bottom SMD components and cover ALL SMD components with peel off before wave.
