PCB Surface Cleaner

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 07 13:31:29 EST 2011 | rway

So are you more concerned with cleaning the board than fixing the issue? Are you employed by the OEM? If so, your main concern should be to eliminate the cause of the contamination which sounds like it's coming from the board house. But if you are

Mydata centering jaws causing ESD and part damage

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 07 06:45:13 EST 2014 | cot628

Has anybody had issues with the Mydata centering jaws causing esd and part damage. I understand we can lower the force on the components but ESD is my main concern. In the past I heard of companies testing the centering jaws because of this concern.

Re: Determining Lead To Be A Hazard

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 23 20:45:12 EDT 2000 | Lee

Hi Dave, You make a very good point. I think that the concern over lead is not so much in user's contact with the lead during the product's active life, but after its disposal. There is some valid concern over lead leaching out of circuit boards

Re: Ball Grid Array (BGA)

| I'm very familiar with the great board space savings of BGA and all the "claims to fame." However, can someone out there tell me if any concern exist in the inspection realm. Additionally, solder cracking, CTE/TCE mismatches, no leads for stress re

Immersion Silver PCB Surface Plating

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 01 14:21:24 EST 2000 | Dennis VanBuren

We are considering the use of Immersion Silver for a PCB surface finish. We currently use Immersion Gold surface finish, which has served us well. However, recent discussions on the cracking of corner joints on large pin count BGA packages, with the

Re: Static Concerns

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 12 09:59:13 EST 1999 | Russ Steiner

| I know that static concerns are very important in your work. Are static concerns eliminated by the antic-static devices you wear or which are in your environment, or do the hand tools you use, such as picks, tweezers and brushes, need to be anti-st

Seho Wave Solder Machine Revisited

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 17 08:02:16 EDT 1998 | Earl Moon

A couple of months ago I asked those with experience concerning Seho wave soldering machines to provide comments. Several responded. Thank you all. Now, I would ask about some operational tips concerning the model 2100/2200 machines. The operations m

Re: Solder joint quality/reliability - Mass reflow vs. handsoldering

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 25 18:28:23 EDT 1998 | Earl Moon

| Looking for articles/data comparing the quality/reliability of mass | reflowed SMT solderjoints versus hand soldered SMT solderjoints. As solder joint quality most often is subjective - that is visually compared with graphic examples, IPC is the B

Tenting via(s) under BGA & CSP?

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 11 19:06:59 EDT 2002 | tmarc

We are using 1mm pitch BGAs with a great quantity of via(s) under the component. Very shortly we will be placing CSPs with .65mm pitch. Our via(s) are solder masked, however we generally have a percentage of them that the masking is thin enough that
