Could anyone recommend any companies who manufacture counters for reeled components. Anyone who has any info on the accuracy and reliability of these systems and if there are any alternatives to the usual systems? Cheers.

I'll have to second Boca. I have used the TA blades exclusively for three years and have never seen the coating come off. I think you'll be able to make a case for your bean counters. John Thorup

The best suggestion one can offer is to view the archive section of this site. It is full of discussions, suggestions, advertising, claims, counter-claims, etc. Just search under the words stencil cleaning. Mike Konrad www.aqueoustech.com konrad

Does anyone have a template or a method of approximating remaining part count on a started reel? We are not ready to purchase an electronic parts counter at this point

Buy an electronic counter and simply spool your partial reels to an empty reel. It takes my staff a couple of hours to count every component on partial reels (~50 different values) and I have an exact number rather than an estimate.

In the northern hemisphere you count counter clockwise and southern hemisphere you would count clockwise. Now if your sitting on the equator than it can be either way.

Don't forget that loading a feeder will waste parts, depending on the feeder. A lot of bean counters over look this. But then again, they'll spen $100 chasing pennies around.
