Hello, we are on same boat. Our company looking for AOI system too. We also have Mirtec MV3-L. We are fine with it but we want in-line aoi because of automatisation. And primary in aoi specification we are looking for much more automatic learning

Currently, our AOI is performed after all solder processes. I think we would be better served incorporating AOI before reflow. Does anyone have supporting data like ppm or ROI?

Just wondering who should really operate an AOI? Should it be the SMT operator or the Inspector? We are trying to run the AOI inline but Operators do not feel it is their job to do so. Just wondering how others are handling it.

You AOI supplier is probably a good source of information, but probably the best source of information is you. Consider moving your machine and comparing the two locations based on the the products you manufacture?
