Pick and Place drops nozzles

You may want to look at which spindle that is dropping the nozzle and check the O-ring on the spindle head. It's probably bad, cracked, or broken. Replace it and that will fix it

Universal GSM and 0402/0201 Placement

It's a four-spindle head. I've already learned the joys of the size of the nozzles...on a job that had an 0603 cap a bit too close to an SOIC. The first panel ran, and the cap placed after the IC...and I had parts everywhere. Got it figured out an

The air kiss is to replace the vacuum with air so the part will drop off the nozzle. Every machine I've seen with Air kiss, uses it when discarding a part as well as when placing a part. The air kiss should not be strong enough to blow the nozzle off

One of my Universal GSM (1995/ 1996 model) pick and place machines has recently started to drop the nozzle on the reject belt when dropping off a rejected component. I have tried replacing the nozzel holders on the ends of the spindles but with no im

Does nozzle #1 lower at all when it should pick up a part or is it just staying in the fully up position? If it does come down, but not quite far enough to contact the part, there are adjusting nuts on top of the head that set the lower limit for no

Fuji cp3 and ip2 placement speed

The "BEST" thsat they could do is what is in the manual. BUT we all know that no-one that I know of designs boards with only 0805 on .100" centers with one component. CP 3 should give you on average maybe 10k per hour. IP 2 I really don't know sin

A simple trick I read either here or on another P&P forum is to use "Silly Putty". Place a small thin spot of Silly Putty on the top of the front conveyor rail, and put the machine in "manual" mode. Steer head #1 over the putty and lower it, leavin

Mydata Hydra and 0201 components

Hi Mike, I haven't tried the 0201s with a Hyrda, but after seeing 20 reviews of your message without a response, I'll try and share my experience with 0402s on a non-Hydra machine. The 0402s are slow, but I managed to get some speed by maxing out

Of course a new machine out of the box should perform at a realistic Sigma level and it's not unfair to hold a machine manufacturer true to their claims. However, even if a new machine does meet the criteria on day 1, the numbers will be constantly c

Heat guns and component damage

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 31 15:15:13 EST 2006 | russ

Heat guns used improperly will definitely damage components. You must have a controlled heat gun that can be set to the max temp you want pb =215C max, Pbfree maybe 240C max. This heat gun must not be able to be adjusted or you must have total trus
