We just got these, and they seem to work great for screen printing. I know many people use them for printing, but has anyone tried them for other processes such as placement?

FormFlex and the GridLok system will not work on a semi-automatic printer. They were designed for fully automatic machines. The print table is very shallow on the DEK 248, SMTechs and MPM SPM, UP100 and MicroFlex. DEK should have magnetic base suppor

Hi, Since you're looking information about flexible printed circuits,a book entitled "Printed Circuit Boards R. S. Khandpur" could give you lot of information about flex circuits from Design, Fabrication, and Assembly Phase. The book contains compr

Hi Chris, It sounds like you may have to go with your idea of a relief cut into the stencil. Are there any components that need to be printed in close proximity? Is this a high volume?I used to work at a flex house and we had a similar situation. We

Hi Thomas, Thank you for your posting and I agree with you that Printing is the most difficult one. BTW, after you ran the one side (let's say Bottom side), my engineer worries about the distortion of flex board because of the thickness. In that ca

It's the printing part that's the most challenge, right? You can print it correctly, then you should able to run it with PnP. You might need to have one "print" fixture only for screen printing, then transfer the printed board to SMT fixtures which

Good Morning Here are a few thoughts. When mfg large flex circuits you will need to fixture them to create a stable production environment. As such, the foot print fo the product grows. So you may require systems that can handle 20 inch width by 38 i

We just plant BGA in the paste when we place them with a standard flex machine. You know, just set your placement force to get the balls into the paste. Justin is correct about collapse.

Check out Indium Solder. They have an evaluation board "from Hell"!!! I believe they sell it for eval purposes...will supply cad data for stencil as well as pcb's for print test. I was stunned at the complexity. Hope this helps

Hi fellow problem solvers,... We suspect a planarity problem with our 6 mil wide flex circuit pads having height variance of up to 2 mils after print and reflow. This is contributing to a placement skew with our TAB bonder... Has anyone had any succe
