Just get a regular scale(small thin one - like a scale for kitchen). Mount it over a PCB and simulate placement with certain force. Hold the nozzle down for long time in order to register accurate reading from the scale. Then, just change parameters

BGA scaling

a disturbed solder joint. * Extended/slow cool down ramps can result in surface texture => grainy solder joint. Second, the "BGA scaling" could be a reflection of: * Too little heat (incomplete solidification) OR * Too much heat (excess grain growt

Who can recommend a reliable solder volume measurement m/c?

There's over a hundred postings on the topic in the SMTnet archives. Consider: 1 Determining scale / technology of the equipment that you think will solve your needs 2 Running a Gauge R&R on various suppliers of that scale of equipment

Mydata Line Scan

This could be a dirty glass scale. alignment or gap. step one clean the glass scale. if the number changes 1 - 0 when you move the head it is probably an aligment or gap issue.

BGA scaling

Every BGA that I have mounted has some degree of scaling in the solder joints. Is this due to a lack of peak temp? Anyone out there have any ideas?

Assuming you have the scale that corresponds with Board Width for center justified stencil. Formula would be: 2 x (distance to image {mm} - 368) = Board Width (setting on scale) http://www.dekhead.com/

Thanks, You're right, mid scale for me is something that would be probably very small scale for som companies... What I need is to produce 10.000 units a month until the end of the year, probably more depending on sales.
