The short answer is "No" the white and green feeders are not interchangble. The green feeder has a channel in it to allow the "embosed" or plastic tape to fit flat at the pickup position. If you use paper tape in this type of feeder the tape can be d

I would suggest accepting components only in paper tape. I have had better luck with 0402s in punched paper over plastic embossed tape. You can also pick with oversized nozzles if your vision system does not give you trouble with seeing the nozzle.

I was doing a PM on our CP4-2 and decided to check the placement height of every nozzle. (we're seeing some skewed components and a lot of dropout under stn. 1) I put a dial guage under the nozzle tip at stn 7, turned placing sol on, and checked ev

Daxman, Make sure the clutches engage the nozzle holders properly. Sometimes the holders do not slip into the recess of new clutches as easily as they should. Jerry

It's been a while on that platform, but isn't there supposed to be a 0.3mm nozzle compliance when at Z0?

Out of curiosity, I measured the vacuum levels on our Topaz. With a #31 nozzle the values read somewhere between 130 and 150 when open and about 200 when blocked. The component pickup works fine with no errors with these values

I think we aim for the DOT on the flat. If you get too close to the lens, the taper on the nozzle hits the lens, and you don't get enough vacuum. There is not much room for error on pickup.

Also, ensure you have taught the pickup and have the part on the nozzle when teaching the placement Z height.

For all Tray type components the machine will not pickup from the tray using the adjust assistant (f6). It will default to a position where you can place the QFP onto the nozzle yourself by hand.

Are you sure that the parts are bouncing? We had similar problem where diodes were placed very closely and occasionally nozzle pushed already placed part away (due to pick-up tolerance)...
