Uneven thermal load in PCB design.

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 09 20:34:20 EST 2002 | MA/NY DDave

Hi I hear you, and you are right, yet most good process engineers strive to make future life a little easier by going back to the designers and making some alterations that don't affect performance. Now if we did a 6 sigma type analysis than this p

Pallet absorb thermal heat : compensate by higher deg-C?

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 14 01:04:57 EDT 2001 | procon

Ian, It appears to me you are trying to reflow the star wars project. All this talk about thermal absorbtion, heat differential, etc., it' only a reflow profile? If you read back over the suggestions of all other memos, you will find the solution.

Re: Rework induced thermal shock of SMD capacitors

| Has anyone had any experience with thermal shocking | and cracking of SMD capacitors during the rework process? | My company was advised to preheat capacitors to 125 C | at a rate of 2 C/sec before replacing them onto boards. | Would this maybe

low thermal emf solder & paste - SAC 405

Hello davef - could it be you are confusing low thermal emf (Seebeck coefficient) with low temperature solder ? I am looking after solder wire and paste with low Seebeck coefficient - cadmium based alloy was OK but banned in europe due to RoHs direct

Hi Guys, Thanks for the tips, will try it on next run. Regards, ianchan :)

Pallet absorb thermal heat : compensate by higher deg-C?

Hi mates, actually my whole problem, is whether to : 1) To offset the heat-absorb ability of the Pallet, that artifically lowers my pcba temperature, is it advisable to artifically increase the overall, oven zone temperatures? offset by estimated +

Reflow of large monoblock ceramic filters thermal shock?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 06 06:11:18 EDT 2014 | paulg

I have a large monoblock ceramic filter on a PTFE based pcb material. The filter has a metal casing soldered onto the ceramic filter. I am concerned that if the heating rate is to rapid, then thermal shock / differential expansion could cause the fil
