Solder Printing 2x2 inch ceramic Substrate

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 15 10:40:27 EST 2007 | phil69

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has experience of printing solder paste on to 2x2" ceramic substrates.. At present we are using a very old de haart printer with a mesh emulsion screen.. I am looking to replace this with a more reliable mo

Solder Printing 2x2 inch ceramic Substrate

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 15 16:58:11 EST 2007 | flipit

Phil, I used to print solder paste on 2" X 2" and 3" X 3" 96% Alumina substrates all the time. I used standard solder printers and stencils. Screens are difficult to use and don't print well. You can use a stencil on a DeHart, CW Price, or AMI Pr

SMD ceramic cap size limit on metal substrate

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 11 10:55:32 EST 1999 | KenF

Hi, could anyone tell me the maximum size of an SMD ceramic capacitor that can be assembled on a copper based substrate reliably? The SMD will be reflowed on the copper substrate. The main concern is the CTE mismatch between the ceramic capacitor and

Reflow of large monoblock ceramic filters thermal shock?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 06 06:11:18 EDT 2014 | paulg

I have a large monoblock ceramic filter on a PTFE based pcb material. The filter has a metal casing soldered onto the ceramic filter. I am concerned that if the heating rate is to rapid, then thermal shock / differential expansion could cause the fil

100nF 0805 ceramic cap with 25 Ohm resistance? Why?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 25 03:42:29 EDT 2010 | grahamcooper22

Do you have to 'break' the pcbs from a panel or biscuit or are they individual pcbs form the start ? Poor pcb separation techniques or processes will damage ceramic caps.

J STD 002 Test S source of ceramic substrate

Electronics Forum | Mon May 05 11:20:10 EDT 2014 | pankyb1261

Hi, I was wondering if there is a preferred source of the .635mm ceramic substrate specified in the J STD 002 Test S and if there is what is the typical size folks are using (3" x 3"?). Thanks, Rich

wave soldering surface mount tantalum and ceramic capacitors

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 04 09:09:07 EST 1999 | dave

Can anyone help me with the pros and cons of trying to wave solder tantalum and large (1812) ceramic capacitors. I do know that one may see fractures on larger cermaic caps, but have not seen much on the tantalums. Any insight as to what problems I c

Electrical shorts on glass frit seal of ceramic ICs

Electronics Forum | Mon May 02 14:59:26 EDT 2005 | Linda Woody

Has anyone experienced electrical shorting between adjacent leads of a ceramic hermatic sealed IC? If so, can you share root cause and corrective action? The shorting appears to be in the glass frit seal itself but the failure mechanism is unknown. A

100nF 0805 ceramic cap with 25 Ohm resistance? Why?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 22 00:20:21 EDT 2010 | leadthree

Pick & Place > Wave-solder > other parts > test > conformal coating Is there any production error that could make a ceramic cap conductive? PS: want to add one point: The caps don't seem to be cracked. We changed a few 100 and didn't notice any bro

J STD 002 Test S source of ceramic substrate

Most ceramic you'll see comes from Coors or Kyocera. Size of your substrate will vary according to the stencil / component that you're using. 3" by 3" should be sufficient for most applications. If you get them too small, you could have handling is
