Does anybody know of a manufacturer of board stiffeners to put on the edges of PCBs when there going through the oven? I have seen some that C-clamp on the edges which I would prefer but don't have any info on them.. Thanx, Todd

Yes we are baking the boards and the BGA. Using a CDM material pallet to hold the PCB as clamping is a problem without that.

We use a locally made fixture that uses tooling pins and a mating block to place the connector onto/into. We then use a toggle clamp to push the connector onto the board. We had to make no adjustments to stencil for our application. Russ

Has anyone else had problems with the space saver stencils and frames. The stencil tends to bow in the middle when clamped. These are the frames with only 2 pins to hold the stencil in place. Thanks for any advice

Just thought I'd post and let you all know, SMT Research helped me identify the issue here. Turns out it's the outer moveable rail on the XY table. The clamp bracket brakes were in bad shape, and the outer rail was slipping.

We'd: * Clamp vice grips on the leads to keep movement of the leads from weakening the seal between the leads and the plastic body of the device. * Bend each lead skyward [90* to the deck] at a different distance from the body. * Wrap the insulated w

You need a machine with side clamps. DEK makes them. MPM makes them. Look into a retro for your machine. Both take up space on top of your board. Be carefull of top side component clerance if switching.

Not quite sure what your problem is by your explanation but if you are seeing component shifting with no real trend , I would be confident that it will be down to the Clamping of the board. Make sure the adjustable rail is secure and not moving sligh

What exactly do you mean by "side clamps"? If you mean the thin strips of metal that the board is pushed up against, they are adjustable. Maybe a little more squeege force or down stop also.

Turn off Grid-Lok, turn off side clamps. Use hand inserted tooling (yeah, you may have to do some thinking here)for support. If you have vacuum, turn it on. People still use Grid-Lok?
