Do a search in the archives on conformal coating and silicone conformal coat. A variety of companies make conformal coatings and the equipment to apply it. Coatings can be applied by dipping the board into the coating, brushing it on, or spraying i

Seeking information on companies that manufacture conformal coating equipment. Pro's and Con's of UV / IR or air cured coatings. Masking verses selected coating systems. Thanks Wayne

Hi, Currently my company is running entek coated boards. But whenever there is a misprint, we cannot wash the boards as it would diminish the coating. Is there anyway to clean the boards without removing the coating or is there a way to re-coat

Have you considered spraying the coating? Check with the manufacturer of the epoxy to see if they recommend any equipment and whether or not the coating would have to be mixed with solvent to provide a smooth, thin even coat.

We agree that coating BGA solder balls with conformal coat is a bad idea due to differences between the z-dimension thermal expansion between the conformal coat and solder.

Whether or not conformal coating creates a reliability problem if it bridges the gap between the board and bottom of the part depends on the properties of the coating. A low modulus coating is fine, but one thats modulus increases at colder temperat

Dip the tool handles in a colored plastic coating material, like: * Plasti-Coat Plastisol Coating * Aervoe Polyshield Protective Coat

Guess the better question is why are the resistors and FETs heating to the degree that they discolored the coating? If the coating is discolored, I'd be concerned with the possibility of cracking as dave mentioned. Cracks defeat the purpose of the

Hi, Currently we are facing bubble formation in conformal coatings in the pcba. Have varied various specs of the conformal coating machine, even during manual application also having the same issue. the material used is silicone conformal coating. N

Not entirely clear on your question. We don't coat any of our hardware (assemblies are coated prior to hardware installation), so if coating needs to be reworked after this, then hardware removal is needed.
