BGA's and the Fuji IP2

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 12 12:04:51 EDT 2002 | jax

The Lizard Tongue is just a thin metal strip that, when actuated, slides over the BGA component and holds it down during transport. If you contact FUJI, they should be able to give you a part number, and install instructions..... maybe even the real

GSM 1 Pushdown function.

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 05 02:30:11 EDT 2005 | Bored

Hi, I have seen in the past programs on GSMs using a pushdown function so that the selected previously placed component can be pushed once again into the paste by one of the nozzles. I have tried using greater pressure on the placement but need that

Reflow Oven Profiling

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 25 13:05:08 EDT 2006 | Hoss

TMC, Are you interested in this approach because you only have a flat belt conveyor and want to keep the components from being moved by the belt on the second pass? If so, you might try adding some stiffeners to the board edges to stand the board o

solder paste printing

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 28 04:03:51 EST 2011 | grahamcooper22

Print then dispense in the areas you need extra paste. Why can you not use a stencil which has areas etched away around component patterns to thin the stencil down....for example a 150 micron thick stencil etched to 120 or 100 microns in specific are

Cleaning for conformal coat

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 25 13:41:04 EST 2013 | dontfeedphils

You definitely have to be careful with unsealed components and markings/labels. The best you can do is check with datasheets or find an extra assembly to test it out on first. You can also try slowing down your inline to more like 1-2 ft/min and se

0402 Placement

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 09 09:37:41 EST 2008 | flipit

I would suggest accepting components only in paper tape. I have had better luck with 0402s in punched paper over plastic embossed tape. You can also pick with oversized nozzles if your vision system does not give you trouble with seeing the nozzle.

SMT Assembly Line

Electronics Forum | Sun May 28 19:02:11 EDT 2006 | grantp

Hi, One thing, getting back to the original topic, is you might want to panelize these boards as much as possible, as you don't have too many components, but you have some good volume. So the machine changeover time is going to be an issue. Althoug

Machine feeder setup reduction

Electronics Forum | Sat Oct 20 00:34:57 EDT 2001 | kenbliss

Hi mike The solution is simple but two fold, first your process needs to be changed a bit, you need additional feeders to pre-stage the new P/N run and prestage the extra feeders for reload as certain higher volume components exhaust. The idea is t

Throughput Calculation

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 04 20:09:01 EDT 2003 | stefwitt

The tact time is determined by the slowest machine in the line. In your case it is 4.5 min. This is the time from the board leaving the output conveyor sensor to the next board leaving the sensor. The first machine, which finishes the job in 3 min. h

PCB Support

Electronics Forum | Tue Nov 30 12:02:02 EST 1999 | Steve

Hello All, We assemble boards which are small in size. We use nests for support when screen printing the boards. The nest gives support along the edges of the board. However we are bringing in a new product which has components very close to one edg
