Nick's point is well taken and quite true but finding reflow specs in an IC mfgr's datasheet is not very common. You may need to call the mfgr's tech support group.

wanna know part no. ! Marking on top-side "GVH", 6 pins very small IC. I guess it is a kind of switch for Tx/Rx. Anybody seen "GVH" ?

Paste too thick. Paste not aligned on pad. Part not aligned on pads. Part leads not straight. Oven profile. Paste slump from warm board. Operator before oven thinks they can place IC better than placement machine - so plays IC hockey with part. Oven

A little more detail may help. Is it just a bridging problem? Is the IC backwards? and what is your current setup. This may help you get better responses.

What pitch IC? Perhaps a nickel stencil will work. Are your board FR4? Warping the board could play a major factor in solder shorting.

I have received 10 customer returns for a cold solder joint on 1 lead of a 36 pin IC. Everytime it is on the #18 pin. The process is reflow and I can't figure out why the one leg is cold and the other legs look OK.

groundplane not heating properly.. Is it a J leaded IC? sometimes these get bent slightly in the packaging and sit just far enough off the board to cause solder problems.
