You can also cover unused part with Kapton tape on the bottom side of the stencil. We did it in the past, but today you can order stencils from JLC for almost nothing, so...

If you are in the middle of a run and can't get a replacement stencil there immediately, you can always put a little kapton tape on the bottom of the stencil to mask off a portion of the DPAK pad and reduce the paste deposit. We have had to do this

Kapton Tape should not leave a residue. But Ive seem cheap Kapton do that. Anyways I have gotten a stencil cleaner soldevent to clean off tape residue (Multicore has a good one) It will meet IPC. Chris
