We have our board house apply a peel coat mask that can be brushed off after wave or reflow. You need to brush off while it's still warm.

You are correct, the Hover Davis label feeder works on 'un-punched' flat carrier. Get a sample of your dots on the tape and send it to Hover Davis to see if their feeder will work for you. The Hover Davis feeder will peel the dot off of the tape so

yes, sounds more like you are having a peel force problem. suggest you look at buying a tester to make sure you are being supplied quality reels, as said above.

No but the owner of the last company I worked for used to think prying PLCCs off the board with a screwdriver (using an R0805 as a fulcrum and crushing it in the process) was a valid test. "Feels pretty weak...our intermittent failure must be a pro
