Underfilled BGA Removal

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 28 10:21:16 EDT 2014 | davef

With heat, most underfills soften just before the solder melts. So, keep poking the underfill until you see it soften. Then, wait just the correct amount of time until the solder melts and quickly snap or torque the part from the board. BR davef

Advice for a newbie, please: Can an existing PSB be adapted to slow it down? Maybe add a resistor?

Thanks, Rob... when it says on that eBay mechanism that it's "adjustable," it's the length... it's scored in increments, to snap off at the required length. So no help with this issue, unfortunately.

Reflow for the first time

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 14 09:37:24 EDT 2017 | soldertraining

In modern electronics, Reflow soldering is a very effective method for soldering printed circuit boards with lots of surface mount components. In some reflow ovens, the PCBs are snapped in a frame that touches the PCB only on the edges.

How do I adjust table height EKRA X5 Screen Printer?

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 04 01:55:29 EDT 2020 | cbeneat

How much adjustment is needed? Adjusting the snap off will get the PCB tighter/looser to the stencil. But this is only a 3 to -3 MM adjustment.

I am working with a CM in Taiwan and we are seeing significant differences between the paste printing bon the forward stroke vs the backward stroke. Print parameters are the same (pressure, speed, snap off speed) but there is a significant difference

Dougie, If you have square, rectangular etc; shaped PCB's maybe you could have routing between circuits. "V" shaped grooves top and bottom. I found this extremely good especially if the assemblies are wave soldered. No gaps for flowing up and over.

Ditto to everything said. If everything in the process is correct you will have good success at 25 mil but it will take much care. I have done 20 mil on this type of printer but, as Steve says, I wouldn't want to on a daily basis. Those wipe-offs a

Re: Depanelization Troubles

| We're running into problems with board damage (broken traces, solder shorts) due to pliers and other bizarre tools being used for depanelization. I need some sort of fixture for this. A delrin plate with a slot cut to the correct depth and width mi
