I may be mistaken but I believe that the solvents have defoaming agents in them. I get less foam when I use the solvent than when I don't. If you dissolve the flux in water and agitate it I believe it will foam. I haven't had any over flow issues w

We are currently cleaning solder paste (TAMURA SQ-1030FP) from stencil using an ultrasonic stencil cleaner with solvent (HYSPER-Non CFC). The process cycle time is 30 sec. cleaning in 1st ultrasonic tank and another 30sec. cleaning in 2nd ultrasonic

From your stencil, if not clean, you can have residues, try increasing the frequency or using solvent with the wipe.
