Vapour phase soldering - problem

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 20 19:07:29 EDT 2009 | smt_guy

reduce the stencil aperture to prevent tombstoning in vapor phase process. from my experience a 6 mil thick must be at least between 20 to 30 % aperture reduction for 0805's and below. cheers!

Hello Hunzo, many thanks for your detailed reply! By the way, I am well familiar with the smell of Galden liquid that is used in vapour phase soldering ovens. Does ADL have the similar smell?

Or Vapour Phase... which could fit in a similar space, offer safe even heating and use less power.

Samtec Searay 500 pin connector solder wicking issue after reflow

Hi Evtimov, Thanks for your response. Yes, the vapour phase is suppose to handle big and heavy boards, at least thats the intention. Well our thin board is like around 3mm which is not really thin. In our application the thicker the boards means more

vacuum reflow

Hi, just wondering are many assemblers using vacuum reflow systems, whether they be forced air based or vapour phase type ? If so, anyone seeing any negatives caused by the vacuum with regards liquid solder being 'sucked' away from the joints in the

vacuum reflow

Electronics Forum | Thu May 13 15:20:43 EDT 2021 | grahamcooper22

Hi, are there any component types that are not suitable for vacuum reflow ? I've had one customer use his vacuum vapour phase reflow system on a pcb, and on 10% of the hermetically sealed accelerometers devices. the lids have popped off... Thanks Gra

Vapour Phase Reflow Profiling (Would like to understand more on how to determine a PCB's Profile/Recipe)

Very interested what kind of profiler you use to check your profiles? KIC and Datapaqs have some predictors when it comes to reflow ovens or wave machines.

VOC-free fluxes

Hi! I recently remarked on a thread that so-called VOC-free fluxes weren't. As a result, I got three private e-mails asking what I meant. As this seems to be unclear, I'm starting a new thread with my explanation, rather than sending out the answers
