Has anyone use both methods of depaneling on PCB breaktabs? meaning v-score at the edge of the pcb and mouse bites on the opposite side of the tab (break out panel)? Thanks

We've sanded bites before, but with these volumes, it would kill it. Thanks

Could always get a laser cutter to de-panelize with. I've always wanted one, personally...but, haven't been able to cost justify it. ..rob

Fancort industries offers v-score separation systems. ASYS Group offers sawing and router depanel equipment.

For connectors, we maintain a 0.05" clearance from components edge to the center of the V-groove score

Matt, believe it or not, but mechanical stress is cracking these internally and you can't see it with bare eye. Consider de-paneling as a root cause if parts are close to the de-panel V-score edge/router tabs. I can send you more information.

Dear Sir, We suggest doing only single side V-scroe , not double side . We are able to do it if you like Email :sales@pcbstartech.com Skye: skype: amalia.zeng Wwww.pcbstartech.com

Can you use a conventional router? For boards that small and thin, you could also look into punch dies

oooff... be careful of punch dies. They leave a lot of debris and can stress components on the PCB. If you're using them, be sure to verify stress levels with a strain gauge test. Semi-fractured components can pass test, yet eventually cause latency

You can get a router with a saw blade to handle v-score, but if you plan on doing automated depanel/routing I would probably update my panels to mouse-bites and go with a standard bit based router.
