Potting/Conformal Coating

How thick are their requirements? A barrier can be made using peelable latex. That would then require manual or automatic dispense of latex to create a dam. Then you should be able to use an automated dispense system with a large orifice and flood

Conformal coat material dispensed through epoxy needle?

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 03 15:32:28 EST 2017 | westshoredesign

Not sure exactly what kind of coverage your looking to get but we use Dow Corning 3-1944, it's room-temp cure and rather thick, (think warm honey). But we have found it useful on several projects. http://www.dowcorning.com/applications/search/produc

Stencil Tension

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 25 11:15:10 EDT 2004 | davef

We assume by "stencil tension" you mean a measurement of how securely [or how tauntly] the stencil foil is held in the stencil frame. If so, we do not know how you would go about making your "30 ~ 50 N/cm" limit measurement when verifying conformanc

Need a non-static generating adhesive transfer material

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 27 16:40:45 EDT 2008 | slthomas

(or just some static-safe foam tape) I need to seal a wire terminal block to a board for conformal coating purposes. Currently we glue it to a shim and glue the shim to the board (yuck), but I want to use die cut gaskets if I can make it cost effec

Conformal coating mask dots and halos

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 25 07:37:42 EST 2010 | pcbrown

We are using Humiseal 1B31 and polyester dots for masking. We are spraying this in a Binks sprayer mixed at almost 1:1 with 521 thinner. Whe are seeing the coating creating thin halos around the poly dots as if the dots are "rejecting" the coating. T

Silicone Coat + BGA masking

Electronics Forum | Wed May 17 16:36:27 EDT 2023 | tey422

From my previous experience with silicone, it tend to be need to spray with thick coating(s) and it's more watery. The boots doesn't work too well in those cases. Just a note, now I am no longer working with silicone. For conformal coating, best m

Curing Conformal Coating

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 05 18:11:53 EDT 2008 | jlawson

Also coating costs depends on solids content vs final dry film thickness. Some newer UV coatings are 100% solids, so what you put down you get on the PCB after cure, use no solvents at all. So a cost to look at are qty of PCB per litre of material. T

How to identify quality IC Shipping Tube

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 08 00:08:00 EDT 2019 | jamestong

With the increase of labor costs, the popularity of automated production lines, IC tubes, connector tubes, power module tubes, LED tubes, relay tubes and other electronic components tubes are also becoming more widely used. Many small companies blind

BGA opens / cracks

Profile should have a longer cool soak. Verify as was mentioned all pin/fixture support through out the entire process. Print, Place, pre reflow hand load, post reflow, carriers, ICT, Depanel and FCT. Conformal Coated or Potted? Mylars work well for
