| Now don't everyone jump on this at once, but it seems time for me to send out copies of my not even close to being dated copy of an article about HASL. Though it was published in 1992, in Printed Circuit Fabrication Magazine, and it got rave review

What is the future of HASL with lead-free solders? I have grave misgivings as, even if it works properly (which I'm not too sure about), the alloy will have to match that used in the soldering process, or nearly so. No use using a Bi-containing HASL

Reflow oven exhaust down

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 04 09:42:57 EST 2008 | tonyamenson

I just discovered my reflow oven exhaust had no suction and I'm fixing it now. What I want to know is what happened to my process. FYI. The exhaust from my other oven was getting kicked back into the faulty oven because of this loss of suction. The

Conformal coat bubbles using 1B73 and SC-205 nozzle I've read most of the posts on this subject. I'm using the SC-205 (airless) fan nozzle and 400 needle to apply 1B73 mixed with xylene thinner. I have micro bubbles which come directly out of the noz

TL;DR: I like internal part numbering systems for passive chips and the like, and keeping MPNs for active components (or components with many variants and/or options that could be easily confused as equivalents). I've always been a fan of internal

How dangerous are the fumes from a reflow oven?

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 12 16:46:58 EDT 2019 | stephendo

"mostly an irritant" can be serious for some people. You can get other toxins from PCBs if you char them but you would have mentioned if they came out burnt. Was there any exhaust on the oven at all? I have seen it where we used a particularly stink
