It'll probably help to know what type of coating you're using on your boards, how it's being applied, and how it's being cured.

We are applying a SR conformal coating via aerosol. Both permanent marker and paint pen are running as soon as the spray hits it

This material contains acetone in 30% plus range and toluene with this solvent combination ink is not an option. You will have to get a CC that doesn’t contain acetone as solvent.

What is the specific make/model of the SR? Being in an aerosol, I'm sure they thin it down quite a bit so that thinner is what is attacking your ink.

We use the Edding pen as stated but then apply a quick set epoxy resin over the top and allow to dry, this does work.

How are you applying the expoxy resin? Why use the expensive pen edding aerospace pen under the epoxy when a cheaper pen will do?

marking standard for .1% resistors?

Thanks Jerry. It's entirely possible that the parts that were originally kitted were Yageo so we at least have some chance of things being "as they should" on the bulk of them. Those also test out at 10.00 so we're not too concerned about them. The o

Sorry, Jerry, I was just too lazy to include the k, as in 10.00k ohms. I don't have a meter that will read out to 3 places, so something like 10.014 would read at the upper limit of 10.01. Same problem exists at the lower end, obviously.

I have found that Edding do an aerospace marker, which is water based and does not run with the conformal coating. However, this washes off prior to the coating so it is not much use. Looks like we are just going to have to put some clear tape over

PCBA Id using Laser marking

We are using Nutek NTM4910-XL laser marker to etch 2D barcode on all our boards. We added solid silkscreen box on all our boards to create contrast. When we laser etch them, we just burn the silkscreen box so that we can see the soldermask under it c
