I have seen a few references in this forum to an old study (1980s?) by Roger Wild at IBM. But I cannot find a published report or usable reference to one. davef mentioned the SMTnet archives as a possible source, but that has also been a dead end.

Bert, This is a mistake by Fuji (yes they do make some). The fitting is on the table but is blocked by the retainer for the lead screw sleeve. Jerry

Always could go get a stethoscope and that seems to help isolate a problem that you may be having. I have one of these on hand because they come in handy.

Thanks Grant and Doug, The manuals never tell you that you can pull the leadscrew covers back - but thanks to your suggestion I was able to access the lead-screw. It didn't look bad at all and had some lubrication on it. I added some more lubricat
