Try to check if there any foreign objects drop on the tool bank first. Even a tiny passive part could prevent the proper function of "open" and "close" of the tool bank. That's something to check too but always overlooked.

Lead Free BGA in Leaded Board

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 06 16:54:51 EDT 2020 | emeto

For repair - passive components you can solder with corresponding chemistry. You remove the old part, clean the pad surface. Now you can match component and solder as needed. BGA is more difficult as they already balled the part with certain chemistr

You have some of the 642s still running? This is impressive. I used to have coupe of these 11-12years ago and I used them for exclusively for simple assemblies with passive components bigger size even back then. Even 0402 was challenge for these base

Re: Adhesion loss on passives over wave

| Hi folks, | | I am looking for inputs on a long-standing problem encountered in our shop: Bottom-side parts (passives) falling off in the Wave...where the only remnants of the part is a flattened glue dot of proper diameter and volume, and somet

Re: Double sided reflow in one pass?

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 18 08:38:46 EDT 1999 | Jason Gregory

| Is there process by which one can do a double sided reflow (SMT on both sides) in one pass through the oven? | Paul, Here's a way it might be done. Screen your bottom side with paste (if only passives, 0603-1206 & sot 23's), dispense glue for sam

Process Change

In a month or so, we will be getting an in-line x-ray inspection machine. It will require that we solder our most comlicated side (normally top) first. This is opposite to our process now where we solder our passive (bottom) side first. We cannot

We are a small division. We are starting up a leadless line with an old screen printer and a convection oven. At this time we don't intend to get any sort of pick and place assistance and wil be loading by hand. We find the biggest problem with th

| It seems to be that we have to much NaCl left on our assambled PCB's. | The flux we use is from cobar. They say it can not be from the flux... So what can be the reason, what kind of problem may occer when there is to much NaCl. | George, Are you

Re: Why so little interest in Bulk Fed passives?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 05 18:18:56 EST 1999 | Hallj

| If passive componets are cheaper why aren't they more popular? Manufacturers like Murata and AVX claim availability and substantial cost savings but little interest seems to exist. Why? Your input is greatly appreciated. | I use bulk fed compon
