AJ, I believe all of your questions are best answered by your pc board supplier. The answers will vary depending on pcb material, thickness, humidity level in your shop, etc. Too many variables to consider for a generic answer.

Hi TIA, Check to see if you have solder resist between the pads on your PC board. If the board house just blocked out the resist all the way around the entire row, you may want them to change this to individual pads.

Search for the bios or motherboard on ebay. Type in the part numbers you find on the boards and see if anything comes up. Often these are standard pc boards. I've repaired my old MPM by finding the cards on ebay cheap.
