make 4 square rounded corner apertures around the ground pad and the total reduction of 20 % (80 % solder paste). Then you still be able to solder the terminals around. We SMT-mount & reflow soldering various QFN packages onto our customers pcb:s wi

Yes, but no guarantee of solderability. This just puts more paste on the pads. From my experience, unsoldered QFN parts are not due to lack of solder, but reflow.

We solder SMD sockets all the time with reflow. What are your issues?

Bill, Any reflow oven sales guy would be happy to help you with a snazzy sales pitch. I also had some info from paste manufacturers when I pitched it to my boss. Essentially, I believe, it comes down to control. You may be able to get a 4-zone ho

Are there many of you who are soldering through hole parts in your surface mount reflow oven? How repeatable is the process? Do you need to touch up a lot after reflow? We don't do long runs maybe 200, 300 boards max. Can you just screen print t

Currently I am running a very dense PCBA using a PCB less than 20 mils thick. We have two facilities running this product. One is using Nitrogen during reflow one is not. What is the advantage and disadvantages of using Nitrogen during the reflow

The most common way is to screen print paste for the SMT placement, then then SMT placement then reflow then TH placement followed by wave solder. You won't be able to screen print for the BGA after reflow unless you use a mini stencil. Or you co

Hello all, I am having soldering issues with an Everlight component it is a TM4201/TR2 (Right angle IRDA with a 1mm pitch). The problem I have is that after reflow the solder joints look perfect, but during test we are losing 7 micro amps as soon as

Looking for the best choice in books on soldering processes, primarily reflow but wave is going to be with us for a while so..... If you had to buy one today, which would you start with? Here's the list I gleened from the archives: Coombs, CF, "Pr
