And pin outs of both. Once I saw a SOT-6 replaced with a miniSOT-6 (IIRC) The pin outs of the two parts were different. We did make an adaptor board and it wasn't too bad. We populated a panel of the adaptor boards, depanelized them and put them in t

Thanks guys, since I have no control as to who makes the board (probably the lowest bidder), I guess I'll keep the SOT's on top. Thanks for your help, John | John, | | SOT 23's on the bottom side is no real problem...as long as you get the orientai

John, SOT 23's on the bottom side is no real problem...as long as you get the orientaion to the wave right and you remember to increase the pad sizees to allow the solder to get to the pads. Soldering with only one wave would be trick as Vinesh sugg

Re: SOT-23's Stencil Geometry

| Hopefully, everybody suffers from solderability of SOT-23 devices and I would like to know how everybody else resolves this problem. | Historically, here, we have always gone for 6 thou stencils. I found that going to an 8 thou stencil improved the

what is the main concern about this reqirement? Why IPC-A-610c is revsised to this? IPC-A-610c said it is a defect.Solder touches the body of a plastic bodied component, eg SOICs and SOTs. But D version think it is acceptable. WHY? I thought "plasti

Typical placement speeds - please advise

Based on your knowledge and experience, could you tell me about speed differences when placing a mix of SMD at mass production? We could consider packages like the small R & C chips, then SOD323, SOT-23, SOT-23-5, SOT23-6, SON6, QFN8, SOIC-8, SOIC-16

Machine dropout on SOT23 device

We are experiencing 2%+ dropout on one particular SOT23 device. This seems to occur during the actual pickup phase. I have made sure that my pickup position and height are correct. If I single step through the forward feed of the component, viewing i

Hi Robert, Try looking at www.marsport.demon.co.uk/smd/ This site contains a list of html files with all marking codes known at this moment. Your example of a transistor with marking code 8A can be a 3V3 zener diode or a npn general purpose transi
