The design of this machine makes it difficult to lift the pump out to clean as often as it probably should be. We are seeing dross on the solder source side of the boards. Does putting wax in the solder pot help reduce the dross? If it does help, wh

Here is some more info with regarding my Wave. 1. PCB .065" thick 2. leed length .20" (.135" protrution) I know this is high but we use many thousands and cutting each is not practical. 3. no clean flux by way of foam fluxer 4. wave machine is a HOL

One of the things that I have found is the "benchtop/lab" type waves (Low cost) do not perform very well except on the simplest of products, they are lacking critical design elements such as adequate preheat length, laminar flow nozzle design, etc.

Howdy aj, wow! Be prepared for serious problems with corrosion of your stainless steel workings of your pump. Last I looked changing a wave solder pot over to nitrated coating for electrovert was in the neighborhood of 18-20K. I'm not a betting man

I haven't tried anything like that but had some experience with .8 mm pitch SSOPs. Immersion depth in wave was very critical- had to control Lambda pump speeds within 20 RPM and even then it would change as solder level dropped. Need thieving pads o

In addition to Pete's fine tips, here's one we have successfully used in similar situations as long as you're using OA flux. Get some kind of pump action spray bottle (like hair spray comes in) and fill is with some of your wave flux. Use the bottl

| Has anyone had trouble waving and gluing 0603 R's and C's? At my company, our designers have "opened the floodgates" on bottom-side 0603's. | | We've got an EPK+ with rotary chip and omega wave but can't seem to get skip-free soldering on these g
