We currently have an issue with via's in pads which we have been living with for some time. The problem has now escalated with the need to increase the via hole size to achieve PCB fabricators aspect ratio's. We are now not only experiencing solder d

Nothing like making a handful of changes all at once to confuse an issue, huh? Did you (or whomever ordered the stencil) spec. the same stencil design parameters that you would normally have used? We've never done fine pitch of any sort on silver

Is it possible that he was testing you to see if you knew whether or not 610 addressed environmental specs? I had a consultant that was touring our plant ask me what aspect ratio we used on our stencils. I told him I like to keep it at 1.5 if I can.

Whoa dude - slow down- maybe great beer money but if you don't have good environmental and ESD controls in your shed, all your suds slush fund will evaporate in RMA's costs. A small pick and place (table top) would do. A manual screen printer would h

Mentor(Valor) has dfm softwares that not only looks at the stecnicl layers buy can look at other impacts that could effect the optimisation of the stencil design, ie solder mask layer tolerances defined from fabricator-design etc - this is a upper en

I've successfully refrigerated a pasted board, and placed/reflowed it the next day with minimal issues. Me too. I'm looking for more than one day. > You might want to invest in a stencil cleaner Tried that. They do not work on the high-aspect ra

Yes, I agree with Evtimov. It's more about aperature reduction and type than it is the type of machine. Aspect and and Area Ratio are very important. Take a look at this page I found on the internet http://www.qualiecocircuits.co.nz/stencil-techno

I agree that homplate is a good design, but also this could be caused by the stencil thickness and aperture size, if you are at 7-9 mils thick stencil and a 1:1 ratio on aperture size then 2 things i know of will happen, one a squishing out of past o

You are right, playing with apertures is how to ensure release. Making a stencil thinner or thicker is "playing with apertures" It all relates to aspect and area ratio calculations and what you need to do based upon the numbers you get. Russ

All SM machines pick components with a vacuum nozzle. Most likely the component is picked in the geometric center, which may not be the center of gravity ( SOT 23, SO 89 ). Any other pick position than the center may be taught upon requirement, but y
