We had that problem with our printers we just drill and tap the top end of the stop and put a short screw in to allow us to adjust the top height of the stop and catch the board. Be careful not to make it to long or to could restrict the board from l

The first question in solving the "ol' SMT component loss after second-side wave operation" problem is: So, what makes you think the components actually came-off in the wave and not during some previous 'handling'? Putting that aside, we'll play thi

thank you for your reply. I felt like I was using too much heat but I thought it would not work unless I did so. I did not suspect a cold solder joint, however I did another test on a scrap board. I heated the board without my clamps attached (I put

Is this problem really related to the size of the BGA OR the size/thickness of the PCB? Would I be correct in assuming that your pre-heater is small in size? Usually a board warps like this when the ramp is to great at the localized area. the imme

I'd agree with Justin, we do double sided reflow on most of our boards with fine pitch QFP's both sides, you do have a problem somewhere else, what size is you board? Is it warping slightly? What kind of oven are you using? Is it convection? fans

All our AP's have camera mounted board stop sensors (works like a conveyor sensor). You can also mount these sensors on or near the conveyor if you want. We do not have problems like you talk about. You should call MpM and ask them if it's possibl

Use the photo sensor to stop boards instead of the hard-stop. There is also an ultrasonic sensor upgrade. A little more robust than optical. Y Snugger Tooling upgrade is kind of pricey and they like to do that in the plant. But, I've known that upgr

Thanks for the posts guys, I'd like to mention a few things... In my opinion, the tooling does not get any better than this. The board is fairly small and quite stiff. There is no board warping. The tooling plates are tight and the vacuum really h

Do you know what the maximum temperature rating is for the devices. But in my past experience you could be seeing the following. Excess thermal ramp rates typically you would like to see 2 to 3C/sec in the reflow oven, if it is greater than this i wo

Hej back at ya Your connectors could be warping during reflow. Find out by putting a connector on a hot plate and increasing the temperature. If so, you might get away with a simple fix of rotating the board 90* on your reflow oven conveyor. If you
